First Post!

Well, this is me trying out my new blog. And hopefully it'll be simulcast successfully on Facebook. So all you Facebookers watching me, hello. Let me know if you see this, if you please.

Anyways... it's not good form to start off a blog with a sad note, but it's the most prevalent news of today. My nephew (sister's son) Ryan apparently killed himself today. The weird part is, since I haven't seen him in a while, and since we've sort of... grown apart... I'm not all that sad.
I know some of you are probably hating me for being insensitive, and I don't blame you, but when I heard... I wanted to be sad, but... nothing. I feel worse for not being sad than I would have if I were genuinely sad.

... anyway, on still a poor, but not as depressing note, apparently-- and I don't know how many of you have/had this problem-- when a new driver suddenly drives for seven straight hours, when the most they had driven at a time before that was three hours... well, I did that and I came down with extreme, quite literal carsickness.
Threw up about half an hour or so after we docked ship in the Holiday Inn we're currently staying at. (The worst part is the aftertaste. Ugh.)

The reason we're in the Holiday Inn is that we're visiting some colleges in Missouri. Went to Truman State. Tomorrow we're off to Westminster. Then back home. Hopefully my digestive system can handle tomorrow's driving.
